Basic knowledge of Blackjack

To play blackjack before anything else we must learn the rules of the game, to dominate it, and then apply some of the strategies to this game. Let’s see the basic rules of blackjack in order to start playing at the casino of your choice:

Value of the cards:

Cards ranging from 2 to 9 have the value corresponding to its number, i.e., 2 is 2, 4 is 4, etc.

The cards 10, Jack (Jack), Queen and King, always worth 10.

Ace can be 1 or 11, at our option, depending on the convenience to hand we have.

Basic rules:

First remember that the blackjack tables every player plays against the dealer individually. The dealer deals two cards to each player at the table, and he delivers one indoor and one outdoor. If we receive an ace and 10 (any of the cards with this value), we will have 21 points, i.e. Blackjack, which gives the game immediately by paying one and a half our bet, as long as the croupier does not also have blackjack. If we have other combination of letters, we have two options: a) plant us, that is, stop being dealt considering that we have a number high enough to win the hand; or b) ask for more cards.

Once all players have played their hand, either planting himself or asking cards, the dealer will expose his covered card, he also having the option to stand or draw cards. But the croupier decision really depends on the pre-existing at the blackjack rules: If your cards total 16 or less is required to ask for a letter; if you’re hand totals 17 or more, you are obliged to stand. In some casinos there is an exception to this rule, and that is when the dealer’s 17 points are formed with an Ace used as 11.

If the dealer exceeds 21 points, all players at the table who have not passed, earning his hand. If the dealer is not passed, you will win every player who has more points than him, without exceeding 21, and lose all they have fewer points. If your hand adds up the same points than the dealer, it is a tie, in which case it returns the original bet we did.

Option to split pairs:

It may be that in the cast obtain two cards of equal value. In that case we have an option called Split, or split, which means we can make two different hands that original hand. If we divided, we must make a second bet equal to the first, for the new hand. If when we receive new cards get another pair, we can re-split. We can use this option to have no more than 4 different hands simultaneously. If we divide Aces, we know that we can only ask for one more cards per hand we are playing. If after splitting Aces we reached 21 points, it is not considered Blackjack.

Option to double the bet:

Another possibility we have at blackjack is to double our bet. This option can be exercised only after receiving the first two cards. And if we do, we can only receive one extra card. You can also double up having divided the hand.

Safe bet:

If the dealer’s exposed card is an Ace, we are able to do the “safe bet”. That is, we assume that the dealer’s hole card could be 10, in which case the croupier has blackjack. What we do with the safe bet is to cover us before that possibility. The sure bet cannot be less than half of our original bet. If the dealer does have blackjack, then we charge 2-1 “safe bet”; if you have blackjack, you lose the “safe bet” and the hand continues.

Surrender:

If after receiving our first two letters we see that we have no chance of winning, we can “surrender”, i.e. withdraw from the hand, losing only half your bet. As long as the dealer has not obtained blackjack. It is considered the best when we give up only 25% chance of winning the hand.
